My Christmas piece is inspired by Carrickfergus Castle and the magical atmosphere it creates during the festive season. I wanted to capture the castle’s historic appearance while giving it a warm and Christmassy feel, using details such as twinkling lights, decorations and winter colours. The contrast between the old stone walls and the bright Christmas decorations makes the piece feel both traditional and magical. I chose Carrickfergus Castle because it is an important landmark in Northern Ireland and its impressive architecture makes it a great subject for a Christmas-themed artwork.
